What the app does on your computer

It reads the display mode your computer is currently in, and changes the screen resolution when you click a tile. That is the whole of it.

Two Windows functions do that work, EnumDisplaySettingsW to read and ChangeDisplaySettingsW to change. The change is a dynamic session change, which means Windows applies it to the session you are in and does not write it to the registry. Restarting returns you to your normal resolution whatever happens.

What it does not do

• It opens no network sockets and makes no request to any server, for any reason.
• It starts no other program.
• It writes no file. It reads its own bundled icon and nothing else.
• It writes nothing to the registry.
• It does not read, attach to, or modify any game or other running program.
• It asks for no permission beyond running as a normal desktop application.

Data collected by others

Downloading through the Microsoft Store means Microsoft handles the transaction and whatever telemetry the Store itself performs. That is between you and Microsoft, and it is covered by their privacy statement. Nothing about it is visible to this app or to its publisher, and no information reaches Heberg.cloud as a result of you installing or using QuickTrueStretch.

How you can check all of this

This is the part that matters more than the promise, because a privacy policy is only worth what the reader can verify.

• The build has been through security audits in an isolated Windows Sandbox, with networking available throughout, which is what makes a result of zero meaningful.
• One pass sampled a driven session 83 times and recorded zero network endpoints, zero child processes and zero registry writes.
• Another confirmed there is no network or crypto binary anywhere inside the package. The ones Python normally pulls in are excluded at build time, so the property is structural rather than a statement about intent.
• The reports are published in full, method included, rather than summarised into a verdict. You can judge the method and not just the result.

Children

The app collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this ever changes, the change will appear here and in the release notes before the version it applies to ships. A version of QuickTrueStretch that collected anything would be a different product, and it would say so plainly rather than quietly.
